The momentum of the Sierra Leone Premier League keeps increasing from one match to the other.
Match week two of the fixture, on Wednesday 6th February produced three matches wherein Ports Authority hosted Bo Rangers at the Approved School Field, Central Parade played host to Mighty Black pool who were the visitors, and the final match of the day was played between Kallon FC and Anti Drugs FC at the Siaka Stevens Stadium.
Central Parade locked horns with Mighty Blackpool at the Parade playing field which saw a huge turnout.
However, most of the fans were not pleased with the ticket price for the match, which was tagged Le 10,000 (Ten Thousand Leones).
The match kicked off a little after the stipulated time of 4:30 pm and both team filed in an unchanged line up from their previous match.
The tempo of the two supporting sides was somehow low as both teams were unable to keep full possession of the ball.
Idrissu and Alfred sakila two key midfield players on both sides were unable to connect the play from the midfield to their attackers.
Deep in the first half of play Gibrila Kamara (Malian) attacking player of Blackpool had a fine shot at goal but the stopper for Central Parade sent it out for a corner.
Blackpool was forced to make an early substitution, Alie Levis who suffered a stomach injury and was replaced by Sulaiman Jalloh.
There was no major talking point in the second half of play as both teams did struggle to maintain possession of the ball; however, much was expected from host, Central Parade as they are familiar with the pitch.
According to Abu Sankoh, head coach of Mighty Blackpool, they are not satisfied with the result and said that his boys must step up to the task.
They are really disappointed with the result as they were unable to secure a win, he stated.
“The players did not live up to expectation,” he confirmed.
Emmanuel James Assistant Coach of Central Parade did express appreciation over the performance of his side.
He maintained that they are going back to the drawing board to work on their finishing.
He said that they have now secured four (4) points which is a plus for them, but that there is the need for them to work on their finishing which would enable them to score more goals and secure winnings.
