Sierra Leone’s Minister of Youth Affairs, Mohamed Orman Bangura was among Ministers, Financiers and Businessmen across Africa to attend the YouthConnectAfrica summit that was held in the Rwanda Capital, Kigali.
The Minister led a team of five which includes two Young Sierra Leonean Innovators, Deputy Commissioner of National Youth Commission and an Entrepreneur.
The trip by the Minister of Youth Affairs and his team has no costs on government as it was fully funded by partners.
The thrust of the conference was to discuss “Connecting Youth for Continental Transformation” as a total of 2500 delegates across Africa were in attendance.
The summit placed young people at the center of the conversations and obliged them to take home actionable policies that will guide them in mainstreaming youth policies.
Minister Orman Bangura said that the summit put youth issues on top of their priorities to tap from the demographic dividend.
This, according to Sierra Leone Youth Minister is in line with President Bio’s agenda of not only placing youth issues on top of his priorities but treating same as a security and development challenge.
The Minister explained that when he comes back to Sierra Leone, he will help to mainstream some of these rich policies for the youth.
