Ongoing investigation on the 20 Million Dollars 200 Chinese Buses for which a Memorandum Of Understanding was signed in China between government officials, RDC (An Agent) and Golden Dragon, a bus manufacturing company in China has proven that there is no company with the name RDC SL Limited in Sierra Leone.

Records in Corporate Affairs Commission of Sierra Leone showed that there is no such company in Sierra Leone as RDC SL Limited.

This was also confirmed to New Age by the Executive Chairman of National Commission For Privatization (NCP), Umaru Napoleon Koroma on the basis that, “ the company will definitely register when they start operation in Sierra Leone.”

“RDC representative in Sierra Leone is Amadu Jah and they will definitely register before they start operation,’’ he stated.

The problem though is that records have shown that RDC does not operate bus service and has never been operating any bus service anywhere in the world rather they are only into sale and importation of automobile.

“RDC Company Limited is a trading company dealing in the sales and importation of various brands of automobile and parts. It was established in 2013, following the expansion of both the industrial and private sector and the need for both private and corporate entities to be mobile for business and private purposes,” RDC states in it official website.

Umaru Napoleon Koroma insisted that the government of Sierra Leone will not spend a dime on those 200 buses but they want more private companies to come and operate in Sierra Leone.

He said that it is within his mandate to ensure that he made the Road Transport Corporation  viable and  that they may consider number of privatization methods including partnership with a private company.

He insisted that when RDC comes into Sierra Leone in the next coming days or weeks, the media will be part of the whole process as he has nothing to hide.

“Government does not even have the money to buy the buses. When RDC comes, they will follow the law including registering with the Corporate Affair Commission,” Napoleon maintains.

Napoleon dismissed the question on the fact that the company paid their way through and from China as undue influence.
