Now that Bio has clocked a year since he took office as president, it is the expectations of many Sierra Leoneans that improvement would have been made by his (President Bio’s) administration on major sectors.
The fight against Corruption is one of the sectors in which the New Direction Administration has extremely done well on as the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has been doing a tremendous job in making sure that people who have embezzled state resources pay back those monies.
The Economy on the other hand is one which is in a very bad shape as the current Minster of Finance, Jacob Jusu Saffa has made so many reforms yet things are hard in the country.
This has been premised on the fact that the bread and butter issue that the Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) campaigned on is yet to be realized by the people.
Trade and Investment is another sector which is not free from a poor state. Since the SLPP took office, no major investment has been embarked on that has benefited the people of this country. Not to measure the fact that prices of commodities keep soaring up day in, day out.
However, Education has been another sector for which the SLPP could be commended on as the president has introduced the Free Quality Education.
Although there are concerns questioning the effectiveness of this flagship program (Free Quality Education), it is a good and bold move by the president to have introduced it.
Water supply is another major area on which little or nothing has been done to alleviate the suffering of the people in terms of access to this life assuring facility. The suffering being faced by the people of Freetown in order to fetch water cannot be over emphasized.
With these concerns as being made by many Sierra Leoneans, it points to the fact that more needs to be done by the Bio’s Administration in order to cushion the suffering of the people.
